---- "Twilight Valley" ----

--Basic Information--

Twilight Valley (TV) is my second scenario for Blades of Avernum, and was desinged for
the 1/10 Scenario Desgin Contest.

This scenario is different from everything released for BoA so far, in that it has no
combat. At all. Some people might hate that. Some people (I'm looking at Gizmo) might
like it. The upshot of this means that you can bring any party into the scenario without
worrying that it'll be stamped all over.

The reason there is no combat is two-fold. Firstly, I, upon embarking on this scenario,
harboured a deep dislike of combat in BoA, and wanted a scenario with no fighting at
all. Secondly, the story doesn't exactly lend itself to combat. There are no plagues of
monsters, or brigands, or whatever.

I just hope I won't be hanged for this decision...

Also, the reason everything is searchable is because BoA is broken. For the most part,
you won't want to look at the flowers, or the trees, or anything, really, although there
are some things you may want to search... I'll leave it to you.

And, finally, this scenario is based upon a much longer, much darker story I've been
"working on" for almost a year now. Eventually, I'd like to make the rest of the story
for BoA. "Twilight Valley" is probably the third scenario in a series of three or four.
Whilst you can't see what happens in the first two parts yet (apart from by looking around
in Tovas's Tower for a clue), I have included part of the original poem I wrote which
describes the story just before the party enters TV. You can find it in the file
"Tovas and Laurina".

--Files--

All the files in the "Twilight Valley" folder are necessary for the scenario to work.
DO NOT DELETE THESE FILES!

The only exception is the text file entitled "Tovas and Laurina". For more information
on this, see the large paragraph above.

---Credits/Acknowledgements ---

Firstly a big thank you to everybody who played my first scenario "A Good Beginning".
It's because you of you guys that I put myself through the designing process again.

Also, huge thank you to Bain-Irhno, from the SpiderWeb Message Boards, for setting up and
running the 1/10 competition, which I will probably end up losing. Although "Frostbite"
does look darn pretty.

Inspiration came from Morrissey and Marr, as per, as well as Thom Yorke, Buddy Holly,
The Beatles and many other bands I won't name. Also, I drew inspiration from the
score to a theatrical adaptation of "Dracula" I went to see a while back, which helped
me write the huge poem that TV is a part of in the first place. The only reason I have
a copy of the score is because my good friend knows the artist, Kelvin Towse. So, thanks
to both of you.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention Alint, the god-send of an utility that Khoth
made. It showed me the light when my scripts were plunged into darkness. Or something...

--Beta Testers--

These people made TV into the bug-free (hopefully), less confusing (maybe), and more
enjoyable (don't quote me here) scenario you have on your hard drive now:

TM, who made me realise that monsters do not have nice decor, and they tend to have better
background stories. Also helped with a fairly bad bug which caused characters to appear
when the shouldn't.

PGLB, who helped me sort out the mystery of the keys, amongst a host of other things.

Nemesis, who helped me fix many, many, niggly little bugs and typos, and, despite being
new to all of this, did a bloody terrific job. Also, because of Nem, Tv2 is much, much more
likely to happen.

Salmon, whose colourful reports late on in the beta-period made me smile,
and who also made my heart stop for suggesting that I'd stolen a town name from another
scenario. Also suggested that Tovas was nothing more than an electronic TM :p

Dikiyoba, who as always did my spell-checking, and helped me make the monster less
suspicious from the start. Also helped me shake out lots of tiny little errors. She
also had the best title-names in her report (You do lose Kudos for the Abba one
though).

Enalya, who managed to send me a beat-report in the nick of time, just minutes before I released the
scneario. Luckily, she had nothing to add. :)

I'd like to say a huge thank you to all of you.

---Graphics and Scripts---

All scripts are acknowledged in individual files, but I would like to mention that I
stole chunks of code from "Bahssikava" for the cutscene speed tool and "Death At Chapmans"
for the timer. Also, I liberally used Kelandon's "specdoor" script.

P.S. Kel - you'd better design again! The world needs more Machrone!!

The first Intro picture was obtained from Google, and the second was made for me by Enalya,
who gets my deepest gratitude for making something purdy for me in next to no time.
Thank you! :)

All other graphics are listed below. If I got one of these wrong, or if I haven't
acknowledged you, let me know using the contact information at the end of this file.
